FOOD is a reseach school organized and managed by Centre for Advanced Food Studies (LMC). LMC coorporates with Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen (KU) and DTU, University of Aarhus and the private food sector (See Partners and Links).
FOOD offers collaboration on co-funded PhD projects of which approx. 1/3 is financed by an external partner (the private food sector, research institutions etc.), 1/3 by the Danish Research Agency and 1/3 by KU/DTU/UA.
The advantages for the external partner by this financing model are:
- Mutual inspiration between the external partner and the research groups
- New and challenging combinations of research areas
- Access to new ”state of the art” equipment and expertise
- A great oppotunity to accomplish relevant research projects relatively inexpensively
- An increase in the number of PhD programmes and thereby a larger recruiting base among researchers
- Admission to PhD courses and continuing education
If you are interested in financing 1/3 of a PhD scholarship please contact FOOD for further information (Lars Holm Rasmussen).
FOOD usually makes calls for project proposals each spring (February-May). Deadline for submitting project proposals to FOOD is usually around 1 April Details will be announced at the FOOD Activities section at this website. In 2008 the deadline is 15 May.
If you are interested in financing an industrial PhD student (Erhvers ph.d. ordningen) please contact FOOD for further guidelines. Industrial PhD's can be applied for all-year round.
